(NJFDMA) Recipe: Mama's Apple Cake
Mama's Apple Cake
Serves 6
Description:
Taking advantage of the fall harvest, this dessert is a winner. Moist and sweet, it is sure to be a family favorite.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cooking oil
- 2 eggs, beat until foamy
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 4 cups chopped, peeled and cored apples
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Combine oil and sugar until very well mixed.
Add the egg and vanilla. Sift the dry ingredients and blend in. Blend in the apples.
Pour into a greased and sugared bundt pan. Bake at 350º for one hour. Let the cake cool thoroughly before removing from the pan.
You could vary the recipe by adding ½ cup of nuts or raisins.
